“Kingdom of Andalusia” is a poetic anthology that presents itself as an act of restitution for the work of Joaquín Lobato, a multifaceted artist who traversed the languages of late twentieth-century art and speech with surprising versatility, always maintaining an unmistakable voice, deeply rooted in his homeland, yet at the same time open to the intellectual tensions and ferments of his time. There is a constant tension towards the original and the authentic, conceived as expressions of a primary, ancestral and visceral dimension of human experience. Lobato's verses, as well as his visual works, are nourished by primitive, anthropological, and folkloric elements, bringing to light the popular and cultural roots of his land, filtered by a modern, restless, and deeply personal sensibility. His creative universe is inhabited by an intense and fertile intellectual confrontation with some of the most significant figures of the contemporary artistic and philosophical scene: from María Zambrano to Joan Miró, from Rafael Alberti to Vicente Aleixandre. Lobato's style moved freely within the 20th-century artistic landscape, arriving at different expressive approaches, but finding a privileged place in avant-garde experimentation: literary and poetic innovation and experimental works created a breach in Spanish criticism, representing an escape from the repression of the Franco regime. Lobato gives us a work that manages to go beyond individual narration, in which the memory is preserved, but also the memories, emotions, and soul of an entire generation.

LÓPEZ RICO, ANA - Has a PhD in Book and Writing Science (Unistrapg, 2018). She is a translator and professor of Spanish Language and Translation at the University of Siena, a professor of Spanish Language at the University of Perugia, and a Spanish Language Collaborator and Expert at the University Language Center of the University of Perugia. She has participated as a speaker in international seminars and conferences at universities in Spain, France and Italy and her research focuses on the fields of linguistics, teaching and translation, writing articles for various journals in the field. She was the winner of the international competition “Il tempo della poesia” for the best degree thesis (Giovanni Pascoli Foundation, 2012) and the winner of the “Giovanni Pascoli Prize 2016-2019” for the best doctoral thesis, awarded by the Pascoliana Academy with a unanimous vote. He translated and edited the anthology Fragmentos de Giovanni Pascoli, Ars Poetica, Oviedo, 2018 and the anthology Joaquín Lobato Pérez - Regno andaluso published by Del Vecchio Editore, 2025. She has also been a Corresponding Academician of the Pascoliana Academy since January 2020.
