From 24 April to 3 May 2025, Castiglione del Lago hosts the 55th edition of the Tulipano Festival, one of the most spectacular spring events in Italy.
An immersive experience between tradition, taste and creativity, with a program full of emotions:
- The spectacular Tulip Parades with hand-decorated allegorical floats with colorful petals, staged on 25, 27 April and 3 May.
- The Tulip Garden, which can be visited every day, gives unique floral glimpses in the historic center.
- The market Flowers and Passions, dedicated to crafts, flowers and typical, animates the village on 25, 26, 27 April and 1 May.
- La Taverna del Tulipano, from 25 April, offers local dishes in a convivial and festive atmosphere.
- Calici e Tulipani, the food and wine event from 30 April to 2 May, combines wine and culture with tastings and meetings.
- The Trasimeno Rosé Festival, for the whole period of the festival, celebrates the rosy excellences of the territory, between toasts and views of the lake.
There will be shows, rides and entertainment for all ages, making the Festival of the Tulip an unmissable event for young and old.

The historic center of Castiglione del Lago has several elements that make it unique in the architectural panorama of Umbria. Commissioned by Frederick II, between 1247 and 1250, Brother Elia da Cortona transformed the small fishing village, surrounded by walls and with a tower on top of the promontory, into a real castle-town that closed towards the lake with an impregnable fortress. The hill where the town stood was flattened and leveled, powerful external walls were built starting from the base of the hill, so that the level of the historic center is over 20 meters higher than that of the base of the walls. Here there were 3 gates, with 3 streets and 3 squares. The keep was also built with only 3 sides, to give prominence to the number 3 indicative of the Holy Trinity.
