“Ah, if only these walls could talk…!” how many times have we heard it said or thought it ourselves. Well, Neil Simon did it: he got a room talking; a suite at the Plaza Hotel. But here in the title to be “protagonist” is a suite (symbol of success and social fulfillment). And the suites, as we know, have seen them of all colors, but they cannot speak of them; unless… one is in the theater; where the people who have inhabited them can speak for them. But above all, let these people be played by actors whose names are synonymous with skill and assurance; like, after all, that of the author (Simon is the most represented modern author in the world). Corrado Tedeschi and Debora Caprioglio play three (different) couples, in three (different) situations, in a suite (the same one) of a hotel considered to be Olympus: the abode of the Gods. Luxury, comfort, well-being that nevertheless does not prevent embarrassment, problems, stumbles. Here three different couples, three different couple problems with a single common thread: a room in the Plaza Hotel in New York. The first episode represents the couple's crisis that leads to betrayal and separation. The couple find themselves in the same Suite as their honeymoon and try to revive the marriage, now definitively extinguished. In the second episode, the main couple is clandestine, two old classmates: he is a famous producer, she is a happy "model wife" and the room is always the place where they meet again after years. The third episode is the most hilarious. A couple, worn out by time, who try to convince their daughter to get married. But on the day set to celebrate the wedding, the betrothed locks herself in the bathroom and doesn't want to go out.

In a comedy, depicting the stumbling of any person can already make you smile, but if these inconveniences are experienced by someone we never thought would be the victim, the situation becomes hilarious. Behind the pure and high amusement ensured by Simon's comedies there is always the harsh truth of life. A harshness that popular wisdom fought with the wise saying: “Sing that it passes to you”. Simon seems to tell us instead: “Laugh, laugh, laugh… what's the matter with you!”.
