On the occasion of the bicentenary of Carlo Collodi's birth, Isola di Confine is staging a ballad from the Gran Teatro di Burattini e Maschere, led by Pulcinella Valerio Apice.
The show narrates Pinocchio's journey and his metamorphoses: the tortuous journey from puppet to child, growing up and discovering the world. Pinocchio's journey is the journey of all the boys and girls who grow up, stumble, make mistakes, run after butterflies and climb trees, who are also brave and good-hearted, and form their own personalities along the way –meeting after meeting–.
The show intertwines the text “The Adventures of Pinocchio” by Carlo Collodi with “The Pinocchio Nursery Rhyme” by Gianni Rodari, giving life to a performance suitable for all ages, in which the actors play with different theatrical techniques. We act in masks, we act by singing, we act by narrating. Pinocchio one of us, Pinocchio one of you, Pinocchio… Grow up!
