Crossroads

Crossroads is an unprecedented project that combines an unusual, experimental and continuously evolving repertoire with a traditional formation such as the piano duo: a crossroads of styles, genres, musical suggestions between baroque, progressive rock and the music of the 80s, which they merge on a path without interruption or chronological constraints.

From Purcell to Genesis, from Bach to Pink Floyd, from Pergolesi to Mike Oldfield and Dave Grusin: a journey that reveals compositional treasures, bringing to light points of contact between eras and underground and unexpected references.

The Gelfini - Olzer Duo has a series of concerts in Italian and international theaters and theaters, which have achieved excellent success with the public and critics. E’ their first album is out, dedicated to the Crossroads project, recorded at the Yamaha headquarters in Lesmo.

Alessandra Gelfini: graduated with top marks in piano with Cristina Carini and composition with Carlo Ballarini, she perfected her skills with Alexander Lonquich, the Trio di Trieste, Rosalyn Tureck and Paolo Bordoni. Active as a concert performer in various chamber ensembles, both in the classical and Argentine tango fields, she has played for important events in Italy and abroad (Switzerland, Croatia, Germany and Argentina). He has collaborations with the Cantelli Orchestra, I Pomeriggi Musicali, OFI Orchestra Filarmonica Italiana and Orchestra da Camera di Mantova and has recorded for Fabbri editore, Tetraktys Music, Retedue Svizzera Italiana, Preludio Records, Echandos Records. He regularly collaborates with the Preludio publishing house for the publication of his arrangements.

Roberto Olzer: graduated in organ and organ composition and in piano, graduated in philosophy, combines his compositional activity with that of arranger for various ensembles including the brass decimino of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, and his concert activity in the classical, jazz and pop, as a pianist, organist, soloist and member of various ensembles; among them his own jazz trio, two CDs for which they received the award for best instrumental jazz records in 2013 and 2016 from the Japanese magazine 'jazz criticique magazine'. He has around forty albums published by national and international labels to his credit. His concert activity frequently leads him to perform in Italy, Switzerland, France, Germany, Israel, Japan, China and Australia.
