David Riondino e Sandro De Palma - Racconti sonori a Palazzo Chigi

In a corner of Tuscia, between the Cimini woods and the stony silences of Soriano, Luigi Pirandello wrote two stories as light and deep as a held breath: "Rondone e Rondinella" and "Canta la messa". They are stories suspended between the comic and the tragic, between the sacred and the earthly, between small miseries and great truths. In the first, a swallow and a swift become symbols of freedom and imprisonment, mirrors of an awkward and tender love, born between the walls of a house and the open sky of an impossible desire.

In the second, a young priest struggles between vocation and restlessness, called to "sing the mass" while all around life - and perhaps God himself - is silent or chuckles. In this concert the two stories are commented by piano pieces.

With an ironic and emotional look, Pirandello leads us through the streets and souls of a town that is real and symbolic at the same time: Soriano nel Cimino, a small universal theater where every daily gesture can become poetry, or madness.

Two short stories, two worlds, a single great author who still knows how to speak to our hearts.
