Event information

Right to the Future is an event that combines cinema and music in an intense and profoundly current story.

At the center of the evening is a screening of the documentary by Piero Badaloni, journalist and historic figure in the public service, former director of TG1 and former president of the Lazio Region, who has always been committed to reporting on social and international reality. The film passes through some of the most critical places of our time to ask an urgent question: what happened to the fundamental rights of the child enshrined in the UN Convention?

From the borders between Mexico and the United States to European ports, from the stories of children fleeing the war in Ukraine and Afghanistan to the wounded children from Gaza, the film recounts with a human and direct gaze the lives of those forced to grow up too quickly, amidst migration, conflict, and deprivation. A touching journey that restores voice and dignity to an often invisible childhood.

Following this, the music of the OMAR Ensemble accompanies and amplifies the emotions of the story with ethnic and contemporary sounds. The intense voices of Hala Alsadder and Reem Alameddin, two Palestinian artists who bring identity, memory, and resistance to the stage through music, in a powerful dialogue between cultures and histories, take center stage.

An artistic moment of great value, capable of intertwining different languages to offer the audience not only a show, but an’ experience of awareness and participation.

Event organizer: Ameria 1782 - Teatro delle Arti

Teatro Sociale di Amelia

The Amerino Theater is one of the rare surviving examples of an 18th-century theater built entirely of wood, from the structures to the stage mechanisms still in perfect working order. For this reason, the Ministry of Cultural Heritage has declared it a monument of particular historical and artistic interest.

The Teatro Sociale, until 2020, was owned by the same Theater Society from which it takes its name, founded for its construction. Today, it is owned by the State, which granted it in 2023 to the Cultural Association "Ameria1782 il Teatro delle Art." The theater has hosted all the major works of the Italian and European lyric repertoire, with the participation of great opera singers, as well as symphonic and chamber music performances.

Also worth mentioning is the frequent use of the large stage for filming: it has been calculated that 42 films and television series have been shot here, some of which are very well known to the Italian public, such as The Adventures of Pinocchio by Luigi Comencini with Nino Manfredi (1972) and The Marchese del Grillo by Mario Monicelli with Alberto Sordi (1981).
