At the Umbria Green Festival literary café comes a conference of the highest level with two great experts in Italian literature:

Monica Cristina Storini Full Professor of Italian Literature at La Sapienza University of Rome

Massimo Lucarelli Full Professor of Italian Literature and Culture at the Université Caen Normandie

Denied for a long time, often misunderstood, always marginalized, women's writing is still largely excluded from the literary canon today, despite archival excavations and studies dedicated to it in more recent years. To measure its consistency and highlight its value, two particularly significant moments in its history will be explored in depth: the female mysticism, with the figure of Catherine of Siena (to whose political letters the first part of the conference will be dedicated), and the transition between Nineteenth and twentieth centuries, which saw figures, better known and less well-known, such as those of Emma (Emilia Ferretti Viola), Matilde Serao, Grazia Deledda, Sibilla Aleramo, Maria Messina, Fausta Cialente and Alba de Céspedes.
