The Courtyard is a comedy by Francesco Stella set in 1943 in a public housing project in the Val Melaina district of Rome.
In the courtyard of the building, the residents of the apartment building meet, who, through chatter, arguments, and moments of solidarity, talk about their daily lives.
Through their stories, the reality of ordinary people during the Second World War emerges, amidst difficulties, hopes, and neighborly relations.
The courtyard thus becomes the symbol of community and sharing.
