Event information
Paris’s abduction of Helen ignites a massive scandal involving the era's powerful figures: a pride-wounded Menelaus and the arrogant Agamemnon unleash their army against King Priam’s city. For ten long years on the battlefields of Troy, the gods and glorious Homeric heroes reveal their most human—and ridiculous—sides, their pettiness and selfishness amplified by the earthy, comic spirit of the Esanatoglia dialect. Amidst furious quarrels, acts of spite, and exposed vices, the epic conflict will only reach its conclusion thanks to the famous, cunning ruse of the wooden horse.
