Rocca di Braccio - Montone (PG)
Rocca di Braccio is the most important of the fortifications of Montone, in northern Umbria, of which only a few remains remain.
Built by Andrea di Fortebraccio, also called Braccio da Montone, a leader and soldier who was close to reunifying central Italy in the 15th century, it was demolished by order of Pope Sixtus IV, who thus took revenge for the devastation of Carlo Fortebracci, son of Andrea.
