Mauro Covacich - Trilogia triestina

A journey spanning three seasons—bridging stage and page—conceived and performed by Mauro Covacich, focusing on three pivotal figures of 20th-century literary Trieste. It explores the quirks, mannerisms, and genuine strokes of genius of three giants of twentieth-century literature: Italo Svevo, who learned Italian from school textbooks; James Joyce, who spoke and sang in the local dialect during his long years in Trieste; and Umberto Saba, who dedicated his finest verses to a city that always felt too small for him.

The performance is divided into three acts, with a total running time of three hours. At the end of each act, Guinness beer will be served in honor of Joyce.

Mauro Covacich was born in Trieste and is the author of the short story collection *La sposa* (Bompiani, 2014; a Premio Strega finalist) and numerous novels, including those comprising the "Stars" cycle: *A perdifiato* (Mondadori, 2003) and—all published by Einaudi—*Fiona* (2005), *Prima di sparire* (2008), and *A nome tuo* (2011). In 2017, he published *La città interiore* with La nave di Teseo (a Premio Campiello finalist). In 1999, the University of Vienna awarded him the Abraham Woursell Prize.
