Umbria Green Festival: "The Shape of Water" is a series of literary encounters that focuses on female thought, the local area, and the future. Nadeesha Uyangoda was born in Colombo, Sri Lanka, and has lived in Italy since she was six. She writes in English and Italian for various online and print publications: Al Jazeera English, The Telegraph, Vice Italy, Open Democracy, L’essenziale, and La Repubblica. She created the podcast Sulla Razza with Nathasha Fernando and Maria Mancuso. Her first book, The Only Black Person in the Room, published by 66thand2nd in 2021, won the Anima Prize for Literature and the Anna Maria Ortese Special Jury Prize at the Rapallo Prize.
