Umbria Green Festival: "The Shape of Water" is a series of literary events that focuses on female thought, the local area, and the future. Ten of Italy's most important contemporary women writers will be featured, with the aim of fostering a renewed cultural awareness of environmentally significant places, thanks also to the nature education program that will precede the Festival's events.

Nicoletta Vallorani An avid reader and professor of English and Anglo-American Literature at the University of Milan, Nicoletta Vallorani debuted with Il cuore finto di DR (Urania Prize in 1993, translated into French by Rivages), and has continued to write in both noir and science fiction.

Zorro's Fiancée, the first of four "nomadic" novels (both in terms of themes and publishers: Marcos y Marcos, Einaudi, VerdeNero), was awarded the Zanclea Prize in 1996, and the series was published in France by Gallimard. Le madri cattivi (Salani – Petrolio, 2011), a disturbing and difficult novel about infanticide, won the Maria Teresa Di Lascia Prize in 2012.

After Avrai i miei occhi (You Will Have My Eyes, shortlisted for the 2020 Campiello Prize, Premio Italia) and Eva, Nicoletta Vallorani has published Noi siamo campo di battaglia (We Are the Battlefield) with Zona 42, her third novel set in the Milan of tomorrow, a city where the author lives with many contradictions.
