PINOCCHIO – “ONE OF US”
Written and directed by Emanuele Depace, and staged by the company The Black Sheep
An original performance that brings the story of Pinocchio into the present day, transforming it into a journey through the frailties, contradictions, and questions of contemporary humanity.
Pinocchio is no longer just the puppet who dreams of becoming a real boy: he is one of us. He embodies the need for acceptance, the search for approval, the desire to be seen on social media, the craving for instant success, bullying, loneliness, the fear of being different, and the difficulty of remaining authentic in a society that often asks us to wear a mask.
A contemporary, moving, and provocative reimagining that preserves the soul of the fairy tale while turning it into a mirror of our own reality—a story in which every spectator can recognize themselves and ask: “What if I were Pinocchio?”
Attending the show also offers a chance to do something concrete for others.
The association The Black Sheep APS—with the authorization of the Taranto Local Health Authority (ASL), the Taranto Hospital Complex (P.O.C.), and the Health Management—has launched a charitable initiative tied to the production: for every ticket sold, 1 euro will be donated to the Pediatric Oncohematology Department in Taranto.
In this way, a simple evening at the theater can become a small act of solidarity.
Come and experience Pinocchio.
Come and see yourself in one of us. And, together with us, help do some good.
