RAFFAELLO MAGI

Born in 1963 in Naples, he has been a member of the judiciary since 1993.

He served until 2013 at the Court of Santa Maria Capua Vetere as a preliminary investigations judge, associate judge at the Court of Assizes, and president of the panel for the application of personal and financial preventive measures. In 2005, he drafted the first-instance ruling in the Spartacus maxi-trial, which concerned the criminal activity of the Casalesi clan between 1988 and 1996.

Since 2013, he has been a counselor at the Court of Cassation, assigned to the first criminal section.

He is a member of the implementation group of the Protocol signed in December 2015 between the Supreme Court of Cassation and the European Court of Human Rights.

He taught as a teaching assistant at the Federico II University of Naples in the Department of Criminal Law and Procedure from 1992 to 2002.

He taught Criminal Procedure at the postgraduate school for legal professions at the Second University of Naples and at the Carabinieri Higher Institute of Investigative Techniques in Velletri.

He has served as a speaker at the Higher School of the Judiciary in numerous training initiatives.

He was a member of Ministerial Commissions for the reform of the Code of Criminal Procedure (2006) and for the reform of laws on anti-mafia prevention measures (2013).
