Anfiteatro Romano di Carsulae
L'anfiteatro sorge nell'area della antica città di Carsulae (presso San Gemini), su un vasto pianoro a circa 450 m sul livello del mare, di fronte all'antico teatro.
La costruzione, che risulta in parte incassata nel terreno per l'innalzamento dell'attuale livello, poggiava direttamente sul terrapieno in modo tale che il peso delle gradinate si scaricasse solo in parte sui muri e i pilastri esterni.
Venne realizzato nel I secolo d.C. con pietra calcarea e laterizio, utilizzando la tipica tecnica del periodo, a blocchetti piccoli con fasce orizzontali di due mattoni. Il muro è rafforzato esternamente con piccoli contrafforti posti a distanze regolari tra loro.
Il parcheggio per auto e pullman è gratuito e dista circa 300 mt dall'ingresso del Centro Visita e Documentazione e dall'area archeologica.
