"Echoes of the Past, Voices of the Present" intertwines centuries of music and poetry,

from the Elizabethan England of Morley and Dowland to the lyricism of Purcell,

a master of the English Baroque. The program then traverses the twentieth century

with Castelnuovo-Tedesco, who reinterprets ancient works such as the Dies irae and the

Hebrew verses of the Divan, and with the refined works of Britten and Argento, where

poetic texts and historical letters come to life in music. The result is a

sonic journey through eras and styles, where memories of the past meet

modern sensibilities and languages.
