The Evo & Art Experience, a tour of the Amerini Hills between Amelia and Lugnano in Teverina (the land of the Amerino Tipico), will take place on November 16, 2025, exploring the lands of Germanicus and the ancient Romans.
The tour is part of the Frantoi Aperti in Umbria 2025 event (www.frantoiaperti.net).
The hills and plains of the Amerini area are fascinating tourist destinations and are also the home of Rajo and Moraiolo extra virgin olive oils, both prized for their sensory characteristics and promoted by the Slow Food producer community. Oleamundi also represents one of the largest collections of olive trees in the world. The Amerini Hills are also important from a historical and artistic perspective. Alviano, with its castle, was the setting for the adventures of the mercenary captain Bartolomeo d'Alviano and the Doria-Pamphili family.
Amelia, the city of Germanicus, with its cyclopean walls, Roman cistern, and the remains of the Via Amerina, preserves its history as an ancient municipium. Lugnano in Teverina is a must-see stop to admire one of the most beautiful and important Romanesque churches in the area. Finally, the Convent of San Francesco is the first Franciscan sanctuary built after the death of the Poor Man of Assisi, and where the Saint performed a miracle.
