"Passion and Lyricism from the East" takes us to the heart of Eastern European and Russian music, amidst profound emotion and expressive intensity. Rachmaninoff's Elegiac Trio No. 1, charged with melancholy and pathos, opens the program with pieces of poignant beauty. It is followed by Shostakovich's Trio No. 1, Op. 8, composed in his youth but already rich in drama and inventive freshness. It closes with Smetana's Trio in G minor, Op. 15, a work marked by personal pain but also by vital impulses and romantic passion. A journey through lyricism, drama, and poetry, inspired by three great Eastern European composers.
