Palazzo Ducale - Gubbio

Palazzo Ducale - Gubbio

Palazzo Ducale - Gubbio

The only example of Renaissance architecture in a purely medieval city, it stands in front of the Cathedral and is the result of the expansion and transformation of a nucleus of medieval buildings. It was built starting in 1476 at the behest of Federico di Montefeltro, based on a design by Francesco di Giorgio Martini from Siena. The work was completed under his son Guidobaldo.
Palazzo Ducale is an immersion in the history and collections of a place of great architectural finesse.
