Piazza del Duomo is the quintessential square, located at the end of Via dell'Arringo, the popular assembly site. It is the site of the free municipality of Spoleto. The people gathered here to make their most important decisions. Even today, it remains the most important square. For 50 years, Maestro Giancarlo Menotti concluded the Festival there.
