L’inquietudine-Fernando Pessoa con Malcolm Angelucci e Michele Bandini

An evening in tribute to one of the greatest writers of the twentieth century: Fernando Pessoa—and his Book of Disquiet: an imaginary, multiple, and posthumous work, written by a man without an identity who was dozens of other men (and one woman), each with a distinct personality, biography, astrological chart, and literary output.

During the evening, we will discover the work that reveals everything Pessoa wanted to be and not be: scattered papers, clippings, and notes from a lifetime conceived for a "book to come," published only long after the author's death, thanks to editors and curators who selected and organized the vast and rich material.

It will be a unique opportunity to reread the Book of Disquiet and rediscover a work without parallel in twentieth-century literature.

MALCOLM ANGELUCCI

Malcolm Angelucci is Professor of Italian Literature at the University of Melbourne (Australia). He specializes in early twentieth-century literature and aesthetics, late twentieth-century theater, and Voice Studies, areas in which he has published regularly in international journals. In 2013, he founded the artist collective Illimine, with which he performs in Australian and international settings (e.g., Spazio Taverna, Rome, 2022; MACRO, Rome, 2019; Immigration Museum, Melbourne, 2018). He is the author of several volumes of poetry and the librettist for the Victorian Opera (Australia).

MICHELE BANDINI

Michele Bandini, actor, director, author, artistic director/curator, theater educator, and videomaker from Foligno, Italy, graduated in Aesthetic Philosophy. He began his career in 1999. He has worked as an actor directed by Marco Martinelli, Maurizio Lupinelli, Gigi dall’Aglio, and Butch Morris, among others. He trained with great masters of contemporary theater and scholars, including Ermanna Montanari, Marco Martinelli, Anton Milenin, Bruno de Franceschi, Goffredo Fofi, Piergiogio Giacchè, Maria Silvia Roveri, and others.

He is the co-founder of the Zoe Teatro company, founded in 2002. As an actor, director, and sometimes writer, he has directed and performed numerous shows produced by the Teatro Stabile dell'Umbria, with which he has participated in Italian festivals and seasons.

Malcolm Angelucci and Michele Bandini jointly direct the Zoe – Theater im Forst theater company.
