Music Fest Perugia, in collaboration with Grande Lirica Umbra, presents Gioachino Rossini's The Barber of Seville.
In an engaging semi-staged production directed by Francesca Paola Geretto, the opera will be performed in the original language by the Orchestra delle Cento Città, conducted by Maestro Alessandro Alonzi, with the participation of the Coro Lirico dell'Umbria, prepared and conducted by Maestro Carlo Segoloni.
The cast, almost entirely Italian, including a soloist from the Bratislava National Theatre, will bring the unforgettable characters of Rossini's masterpiece to life. Accompanying the audience through the story, a narrator in the guise of Rossini himself will introduce and connect the opera's key moments, making the experience accessible even to those new to musical theater.
With its misunderstandings, disguises, serenades, and irresistible twists, The Barber of Seville is one of the most beloved and frequently performed comic operas in the world. Rossini's brilliant music, combined with a story full of humor and theatrical liveliness, offers audiences a timeless and engaging spectacle.

The first in chronological order of the three major urban theaters, it was built on the initiative of the Perugian aristocracy. Located in Piazza della Repubblica, halfway along Corso Vannucci, it has a number of usable seats equal to 418, of which 178 in the stalls, 72 in the first tier, 84 in the second, 84 in the third. The fourth tier is not yet usable, but its completion will allow it to reach a capacity of about 500 seats.
