Umbria’s evocative cycling and olive-oil tourism event returns: the fourth edition is scheduled for

Sunday, October 18, 2026, in the heart of the *Fascia Olivata* (Olive Grove Belt), a candidate for UNESCO World Heritage status.

The 2026 Route: Spoleto – Campello – Spoleto

This year’s course follows a captivating loop that blends art with rural tradition:

Start: Spoleto

Lunch stop: Campello sul Clitunno, coinciding with the *Festa dei Frantoi e dei Castelli* (Festival of Oil Mills and Castles)

Return: Spoleto

An itinerary accessible to everyone—perfect for fit cyclists as well as families and enthusiasts who prefer e-bikes. You will ride along gravel roads and scenic trails nestled among olive groves, breathing in the authentic atmosphere of the Umbrian countryside.

The "Grande Pedalata" (Great Ride) is not just a bike ride, but a true journey of flavors. Along the Spoleto-Campello stretch, the route includes stops directly at local oil mills.

During the stops, you can:

- Visit oil mills in full operation

- Discover the secrets behind the production of Umbria PDO Extra Virgin Olive Oil

- Taste freshly pressed new oil, accompanied by typical local products

- Meet the producers who safeguard this extraordinary rural landscape

Distance: 35 km

Route details:

Outward leg (Olive Grove Belt): Approx. 18–19 km. A scenic, hilly route winding through olive groves and villages like Poreta, featuring undulations and an elevation gain of 300 meters.

Return leg (Assisi-Spoleto Cycle Route): Approx. 11 km. This section runs entirely along the flat valley floor, following the protected Assisi-Spoleto cycle path from the Campello/Fonti del Clitunno area back to Spoleto.

Permitted vehicles: Traditional bicycles (gravel, MTB) and e-bikes.

Type: Guided and supported cycle tour.
