Immerse yourself in the grandeur of opera music amidst the
warmth of candles.
In the year in which the OPERA MUSIC is declared by UNESCO
intangible heritage, a celebration of the anniversary of the Teatro G.Manini of
Narni (TR) occurred on 3 May 1856 with the "Traviata" by G. Verdi, on
the centenary of the death of Giacomo Puccini we propose an unforgettable
listening experience a "lyric recital by candlelight".
A magic of music and emotions in the enchanting
nineteenth-century theater of Narni lit by almost a thousand candles. The light
of the candles will illuminate the room and the stage creating a magical
atmosphere that will involve the viewer in a multisensory experience that will
surprise. Candles with their diffused light will create an intimate, romantic
and warm atmosphere perfect for immersing yourself completely in the beauty of
music.
The concert includes the reproduction of piano and voice of
some Verdi’s opera arias to celebrate this anniversary and Puccini’s arias. To
perform will be the soprano SAMANTHA SAPIENZA, professional of great artistic
quality and prestigious talent. She has
performed in numerous concerts around the world and she is the winner of
scholarships and important prizes. The Italian Confederation of Associations
and Foundations for Opera and Symphonic Music, has awarded for the event
"Oscar della Lirica - International Opera Awards" the Special Prize
for the New Generation.
The Soprano is accompanied by the pianist NADIA TESTA,
winner of various national and international competitions, with a long career
of performances in national and international festivals. To perform also the
singer ALESSIA MINICUCCI, from Terni, young soprano of our territory. She
performs in concerts and operas in Italy and abroad, constantly improving by
participating in masterclasses held by great names in opera. She has received
awards in national and international competitions and has worked for festivals
and foundations, testing herself in the repertoire of lirico leggero.

Teatro Manini - Narni
The Municipal Theater of Narni is located at the end of Via Garibaldi, in front of the building that housed the Cassa di Risparmio. Designed by the architect Giovanni Santini, it was inaugurated in 1856. The Manini is a classic "Italian-style theatre" with three tiers of boxes - 17 per row - a gallery, an auditorium and has a capacity of 300 seats. The theater hosts a continuous series of events including concerts, theatrical performances and prose.
