Delirio a due

“Delirio a due” is a small masterpiece of the Theatre of the Absurd, an irresistible theatrical joke typical of the best Ionesco, where the comic and mocking frame and the verbal tightrope walking still reveal a society that is drowning in daily tragedy and in the disconcerting gratuitousness of behavior, and where language, instead of being a tool for communication, is an obstacle that distances and divides. Paradox and the grotesque dominate in the comedy, as does the perennial, futile, incessant quarrel between Him and Her, ridiculous human puppets imprisoned in the web of a bored and repetitive family ménage.
